About this activity

We’ll take a kayak adventure to beautiful Comino – exploring caves, crystal waters, gorgeous bays, beaches or rock formations (weather dependent)! This experience is a half-day guided tour (10am - 1pm) from Gozo to Comino. We take 1 of 2 main routes: 1. the Blue Lagoon side or 2. the Santa Maria side. Both have amazing caves, bays and rock formations. Please understand that all tours are weather-dependent and not all areas/routes may be accessible. This tour is for beginners and experienced kayakers. Please tell us your experience when you book, so we can group you better with others. The tour has 2.5 hours of kayaking with a 30 min break. In the break, you can swim, relax and explore on land!! If needed, the guide will teach you the basics and make sure you feel comfortable! Basic swimming ability required. Hondoq Bay
30 min - This is our usual starting point for the Comino tour. Please note that it may change due to weather or other factors. Please read your messages before the tour and contact us if in doubt. Here, we will set you up with the equipment and make sure you are comfortable in your kayak. You'll meet your guide and do a safety briefing. Then we set you on your way!

Blue Lagoon
3 hr - From the starting point in Gozo, we then kayak to Comino Island (usually about 20 minutes). Sometimes we do a short paddle along Gozo first if you need a little time to practice! We have two basic Comino routes, and on the half-day tours we choose one of them. The first option is on the beautiful Blue Lagoon side of Comino. We spend about 2.5 hours out on the water in total, and in that time, we pass by/enter a number of gorgeous caves, bays and rock formations. It's awesome! For the break of about 30 minutes, we stop in or nearby the Blue Lagoon. In this time you can swim or relax if you would like. Please note that this is an unguided part of the tour. Please understand that all our tours are weather-dependent and not all areas may be accessible. Also, the Comino tours are not always possible due to winds or other factors. The tours are subject to a location change. If so, we will notify you before the tour, so always check your messages and contact us if you are in doubt.

Stop 3
We generally start with a short paddle along the Gozo coastline to get comfortable in our kayaks before our journey takes us across the Gozo Channel Comino! The crossing usually takes about 20min and is approx. 800m at the narrowest point. This is where the adventure really gets started!

Santa Marija Bay

We have two basic Comino routes, and on the half-day tours we choose one of them. The second option is on the fantastic Santa Marija caves side of Comino. We spend about 2.5 hours kayaking in total, and in that time, we pass by/enter a number of gorgeous caves, bays and rock formations. It's awesome! For the break of about 30 minutes, we often stop off at the Santa Marija Bay. In this time you can swim or relax if you would like. Please note that this is an unguided part of the tour. Please understand that all our tours are weather-dependent and not all areas may be accessible. Also, the Comino tours are not always possible due to winds or other factors. San Niklaw Bay
30 min - Hidden around the corner from San Niklaw Bay is our favourite swimming spot. It is a hidden gorge only easily accessible by water. We lovingly refer to it as Urchin's Bay and it contains a wealth of marine life!

Santa Maria Caves
The Santa Maria Caves are found in the tall cliffs nestling on the east coast of Comino. Your tour will include the infamous Smuggler's Cave and others! Please understand that all our tours are weather-dependent and not all areas may be accessible. Also, the Comino tours are not always possible due to winds or other factors. Great tour

Can't speak well enough about this experience! Well done to the whole Kayak Gozo team for providing a welcoming and fun kayak trip. Undertook a journey to Camino Island, got to learn a bit about the history of the place and a few legends as well as see the stunning scenery. The staff were welcoming to all guests arriving and made sure to communicate as best as possible to all the clients of different nationalities speaking different languages. A very safe and comfortable trip, well done team! Shout out to my tour guide Rowan who provided a great trip for the whole group :)

Super recommended trip!

We were on a morning trip with Dawn and it was very nice. We were in a group with other people and she was our personal guide. She was very nice and she created a nice ambient. The tour was spectacular and they offered us a lot of options on our trip (individual, double, routes...) She has an amazing talent for people and she also could take some pictures of us during the trip.

Kayak to Comino

Stu, our guide, was friendly and professional. He skilfully guided our group across to Comino yet found time to chat to everyone en route. The tour was perfectly tailored to our group’s ability so we were able to make an extra stop along the way (as we were ahead of schedule). We loved exploring the coves and caves both in and out of the kayak.

Great experience!

We had a great time with kayak gozo! Unfortunately we were ill on the day we booked but they were very accomodating and moved our session to the next day for us. The tour took us to some great spots and they provided great photos of our adventure. Thanks for the experience!
